sex and the city film 2 update

having reported on sex and the city - the new movie - becoming a reality earlier on the blog I was filled with mixed emotion about the fact that the film is being made at all. I think that maybe the film was enough. but today Steve, Mr Big and Harry signed the dotted line to say that they will return for it. I think maybe bring back the TV series but another film.......hmm....jury is out till i've seen it. apparently Patrica Field has not been signed on yet as Carrie's stylist. interesting. how will sarah Jessica parker fare under the rule of a new stylist.......the mind boggles.
If Carrie is pregnant I swear to god i'll walk out. how predictable.......

questions I have been asked!

someone sent me this bloody questionaire thing. so because I can't sleep I thought i'd answer it!

What is your current obsession?

My current obsession is sadly fringed anything. Found a pure sexy pair of peep toed ankle boots from office I cant afford. but want. like a child. a shoe child.

What is your weirdest obsession?
My skin. Since i'm out of hospital I have had to take a cocktail of painkillers which have left my skin in tatters. I am obsessed with trying to get it back to normal. anything I do is not working though

What are you wearing today?
Topshop. I am wearing an oversized sleeveless black and white prince t-shirt, and a plaited hairband holding back my irritating fringe and a pair of green harem pants which i wear in bed! and one sock. god knows where the other is. I swear I actually look presentable during the day.......

What's for dinner?
well, I had, two glasses of wine, three mini quiches which were being handed out at the exhibtion opening I was at

Why is today special?
it's not. today was terribly dull. had college all afternoon - treated myself to lie in this morning as i am a naughty fourth year!!!!, did some filming in the evening, went to the exhibtion opening of my friend Anna! tommorrow will be waaaay better. I have college all day, two exhibtion openings, a dinner party followed by cocktails.

What would you like to learn to do?
DJ. i am dying to learn how to do it. since i'm so proud of my music taste!

What's the last thing you bought?
I bought a pasta salad, but fashionwise I suppose it was my suede fringed grey bag which i sling about the place. it's perminantly attached to me....

What are you listening to right now?
ladyhawke - from dust till dawn and I am loving the new yeah yeah yeahs album. Karen O's sexy vocals on electro???? yes please!

What is your favorite weather?
Here in Ireland we only get one type of weather. wet. disgusting and grey. overcast if you will

What is your most challenging goal right now?
getting my degree show up and running for my assessments at the end of college.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
Venice. It's the most beautiful city. It's like no where in the world. always timeless and you feel like your in another world not just another city.

What would you like to have in your hands right now?
a GOOD dvd because I took all mine home and all I have left is my boxset of peep show 1-5 and i've watched them so much i know where david mitchell has wrinkles on his face off by heart.....

What would you like to get rid of?
My old new rock boots. can't sell them for love or money!

If you could go anywhere in the world for next hour, where would you go?
japan. anywhere. I have a craving for sushi.

Which language do you want to learn?
German. I love it. I find it easier then french or spanish

What do you look for in a friend?
caring, brutal honesty, LACK OF DRAMA.

Who do you want to meet right now?
Johnny depp. I am sure we'd have lots to talk about....failing that I could maul him!!!

What is the your favorite piece of clothing in your own closet?
My selection of rock t-shirts from prince to metallica to iron maiden and back again, my new river island platforms and my vintage leather gloves.

What is your dream job?
a buyer for topshop

Any favorite model?
Daisy lowe. I have a thing for her. I think she just looks stunning.

If you had $100 now, what would you spend it on?
I would go to office.com and buy those boots in blue!

Favorite designer?
loving luella right now. boringly enough!

What are your currently reading?
Heat magazine as I thats what I do. I go to lovely exhibtions and drink the wine, then buy heat on the way home because it's my secret non fashion shame

What do you consider a fashion faux pas?
fake tan. it's disgusting. it smells, it streaks, it covers everything. it's rotten. i've never used it as the fact that our skin turns color in the sun means it's been over exposed. so why would i put a lotion on to turn it a fake over exposed color? if people comment on my pale skin I just say thanks, if your offended by it, get over yourselves!

Do you admire anyone's style?
I love taylor Momsen from gossip girls take on rock chick edgy glamour

Describe your personal style?
a bit glam rock, a bit punk, a bit rock, a bit vintage, a bit of everything rolled into one!

What are you going to do after this?
go to sleep hopefully as it's half one in the morning!

What would you love to see come back in fashion?
I really want to see more braces on clothing. like men's braces for holding up trousers. i love that look. the only place to get them at the mo is clares accessories (shudder)

a shoe you would cradle like a child in your arms till you fall asleep.....

I had to bring you a sneak peek of these gorgeous shoes from the Asos.com a/w 10 collection. swoon......as you know I have a fondness (cough - alright love) for a sequin, a more then love (more like lust, love and sexy time) for shoes, so combine both and what do you get? these sexy peep toe ankle boots (slouchy ankle boots i might add) from the collection leaked onto lookmagazine.co.uk. oh be still my beating heart. now, a sequinned anything does not cheaply come, but, these shoes would dress up a bin bag. style investment.
now I have not seen these in the flesh (only the chosen few have) so I can't tell if they are well constructed or piss flimsy (see my irregular choice gold boots) so it remains to be seen if they stand the test of time (the Irish roads) or not ( lovely london roads) and if they would be easily cobbled.....(again see my irregular choice boots for examples of how things are not well made) but here is a photo to lust over.....like ed westwick from gossip girl.....you just can't look away no matter how hard you try..........

mini muffin madness

Had a moment today. Normally I steer clear of muffins. as they are worth 450 calories (which when your female means a quarter of your RDA of calories) in one snack not a meal so I was pleasantly surprised when shopping for a present to cheer up a friend of mine I hit on BB's (a coffee franchise in Ireland) mini muffins. A snip at €2.50 for six mini ones! I was delighted. snapping up a bottle of them (yeah, lads, sort out your packaging of the mini ones as it's shit) They had the desired affect as predicted and went down a treat! hurrah for mini muffins, and surely two mini ones does not even come close to the calories of a big one right?

great vintage glasses!

being someone who is obsessed with sunglasses I was delighted to come across giantvintage.com a stockist of every style of sunglass you possible want. now the site is american so all the costs are in dollars but worth a trek for some pretty amazing styles. The photos of the glasses make me come over as all alternative -like- but, the glasses are pretty nice on their own. I collect glasses and if you don't fancy treking all the ways to the site, check out Adhoc on Temple Bar in Dublin for some sunglasses at about 12 euro a pop.
The names are pretty cool too. try the Dylan glasses (wayfarers after Bob dylan), the duckie glasses (duckie in pretty in pink) and what have you

girls aloud find the last unmarketed thing they could

As my business is knowing a fair bit about lashes, being one half of the eyelash whores, it's a bit annoying to be that a range of girls aloud lashes have been made......er, what?
Cheryl Cole to me, and apparently only me, is the most annoying person created. As for most stylish woman, er, she has a stylist people.
Anyway, before i rant on. the range is with eyelure and are more of a quieter person's lash. not the vibrant pinks and reds we like. they are advailable from superdrug if your still reading this and haven't fallen asleep with boredem from the mention of the Ga words.

madonna's dress up for auction!

AND so it is that the iconic dress from the video for material girl is on auction this week.  along with the gloves and the fur stole it is expected to reach up to £60,000 under the hammer. that is prob a lot more then it was made for in 1985. yes, that video which btw -to anyone who cares -  was my first music video I ever saw and remembered along with AHA's take on me - is 23 years old. made the year I was born. creepy. I love vintage madonna.
If you can't get into the groove (see what i did there) and justify your love (and again) for madonna with above mentioned dress then try urban outfitters range of lovely madonna t-shirts. rocking.

Barbara hulanicki for topshop

Barbara Hulanicki opened her collection for topshop to a slightly confused penny. Here is a woman whose photos on Vogue.com were amazing. opening a slightly more then boring collection. All a bit casual and a bit, meh. if i saw these pieces in store I wouldn't rush over and fawn, declare love and save up. I'd prob walk past...... Confusing.

The above dress, the print is only so so. it's just not stunning. it could have been better then this. It's very disapointing.

This coral dress actually looks a bit frumpy. the color is a hard one to work with as well. I'm not sure what I would put it with besides black skinnies which is bloody boring.
The rest of the collection is advailable on topshop.com but was frankily a bit too boring for me to be arsed putting on the blog

I am my own bloody chemists!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. it's also sitting on my shelf in what I realised today is an addiction to buying beauty products. So I decided, as you do, to have a beauty off. a competition of the stuff I own to see what I reccomend. here goes :
Face Scrubs : I swear by this combo face mask and scrub. It's benefit's 'Honey snap out of it' scrub. You put it on and then scrub once done and wash off. I love the stuff. It's a little rough on the skin so go easy with it, but should do the trick.

Face masks : I use the Body shops tea tree mask. I love it. It's great value for what it is, it's about €13 and you get several applications from the one mask pot. wonderful. it kind of heats up a little but will cut through an oily tea zone.

Eye cream : Garnier Nutrionist regeneration eye cream. This makes wonderous things happen. it works over night and sinks in causing a wonderful fresh look the next morning. little bit pricey at €11 for what it is but it bloody works

night moisturizer : I wear two moisturizers, a heavy one at night and light one by day. The heavier ones are the body shop ones. the body butters.  I have a stack of different scented ones. I am trying to use up. I am currently using papaya because its one of the smaller pots and nearly gone. then I will switch to mango for the same reason but the smell is better. these are too heavy for day time use as they leave the skin oily but over night leaves a chance for it to sink in.

Day moisturizer : Was using boots organics day moisturizer with rice extract. until it exploded in my make-up bag post flight to london and I had to clean it out with napkins. gross. but it's light enough to be easily absorbed and non greasy. there is no smell though.

Body cream : I am currently getting through a massive bottle of Ted Baker body wear body souffle. it's alright. (xmas present) But I find it a bit strange smellwise but it sinks in like a dream. I rarely wear body creams as I have soft skin anyway but this makes it smell lurvely!

Perfume : MAC's turquoise blue perfume. loooovely

So that's it really! everything I use on a daily basis. oh apart from my toner which is Garnier!
whew!

Balmain rocks

As we have totally different tastes, it's rare that I really love something Kate Moss has on. Her style of dressed down chic is totally different from my bling it up blind someone chic. every now and again, she totally surprises me. such as her green dress for the launch of Topshop state side or this dress above from Balmain. It's actually totally gorgeous!

Katy perry and matthew williamson

And so it begins. Matthew williamsons H&M collection. I blogged about it a while back when it was nought but a suggestion. now the infestation of celebrity arse kissing begins. it's that moment for me where it's make or break. get a piece on the wrong back of the wrong celebrity and the collection is killed stone dead. i mean imagine lusting over a slightly more expensive then normal dress from the collection, saving to buy it and then only to see someone stylisticly dead traisping around London in it? would you buy it then? would you fuck!!!!!
So imagine my interest in a collection which I will admit is not really my style but nice being aroused by an image of ginnifier goodwin in the sequinned swirly patterned dress. nicely done missus. then whatever I felt that moment was killed when i saw, Katy Perry arsing up a the ncie peacock feather piece. oh sweet lord.
i kissed a girl? - you should have put your tongue back in your head and asked for some style tips while you were at it.
I am the only person who doesn't get the new katy perry style. she was cool looking when her older 1950's look was going on, but this lately somewhat crazy style does her no favours. plus I don't like her as an 'artist' . she's homophobic. (see the song, your so gay for referance) and also hot and cold is completely over played to the point of annoying.
right, was getting into a rant there....back to the collection....
the pink dress above is my fave piece. I think it's a little bit more then carrie bradshaw and totally hits the right mark. the dress above is the feathery piece Katy Perry butchered, i mean wore........
so vote above, did you like the collection? yes no?

barbie is 50!

What in the name of all things holy is going on????????
this is my third doll related blog this month!!!!
but lets face it, this is THE doll. I'm talking Barbie, who turned 50 this week. god bless her. (she don't look her age does she?) She also threw a bang up party for a few of the London heads such as Henry Holland, peaches geldoff, grazia magazine and jodie harsh.
Barbie was the first person to convince me I belonged in fashion. I would spend hours cutting off things off outfits for her, styling her, making her top
model in fashion shows, making her clothes out of discarded fabrics....she introduced me to the world of style and i introduced her to my scissors (bowl cut barbie, nice) On
a hot summery day I would pop all my barbies in a pram belonging to my sister and wheel them up to the water fall and river by my house for a day out (I think this ended when Ken -otherwise known as paul by us - had a sordid affair with Barbies sister Sindy and there was a lot of slaps thrown) I would also build elaborate wonderful holiday homes out of easter egg boxes ( i was a creative child) and take them jet skjing in the bath tub!
The above barbie is presidential candidate barbie. This i like to see. little girls being told yes we can at an early stage. go on barbie! hell, i'd vote!!!!
This slighty scary looking barbie is from 1976. It's gymnast barbie. I had a gymnast barbie but it was from the 80's. totally tacky. I recently saw gymnast barbie from 2009 - at my friends three year old's toybox. The level of make-up on the toy left me shocked. it looked like  a tranny.
this i found is a barbie from the 1980's. I love this. i had another version of the doll because I remember those earrings. I had them in pink on my one. you could pop them in and out if you pulled on them hard enough!!!! but the 80's were the first time there were hispanic and black barbies introduced. I didn't have a black barbie I had the bleached blonde version.

Evans and the beth ditto

While the words 'shopping at evans' fills me with the same dread I once reserved for the Monday morning bus ride to school I was interested to hear about the new Beth Ditto doll. yes, i promise, a Beth Ditto doll. previewing her collection for Evans.
Now, I know Evans is a branch under the tree of Arcadia, well, what isn't???? but i think it was a huge loss on Topshop's part that they didn't get her in there first.
I have blogged before on Beth's interesting style. ANYONE who has had the misfortune of trying to fit into a pair of topshop skinny jeans (a wear people a wear) will tell you that the sizing in topshop is a joke. I love topshop. but I don't love being a size 6-8 one minute in a playsuit and then a 10-12 in a dress. it's rubbish. They need to review their sizes. their jeans are hell on earth. so much so that I don't even look in their denim section anymore.
Their size 16s are an issue too. I think in this day and age it's stupid that they don't go above a size 16 when so many girls are creeping up that way. as a result we have size 18's in size 12 jeans. with a muffin top starbucks would be proud of.
Having Beth Ditto on board in topshop and the introduction of decent sizes would save heartbreak and make people accept that you don't have to be a size 6 to have great style.
it's just a little bit shit that she had to go to Evans whose cool rating is somewhere around the urgh factor as a way of boosting sales. so, it's alright for the like of Kate Moss (size 6-8) to be in the ever cool topshop but the first lady of size they have, has to be in evans.
I'll proberely get a blasting for this blog but I don't care. I support women of any size. It's a great thing to be loud, proud and curvy! I'm saying that it would have sent a better message to the young women who are frantically sweating trying to get into a pair of skinny jeans in topshop right now, as i type, that hey, it's ok to admit, you need the next size up.

alternative fashion week

The three images below are from City and Islington college. Showing at Spitfields alternative fashion week.

Alternative fashion week went off with a bang! Held in Spitfields it hosts some of the UK's best alternative trends for the season. like the image above. loving it. we are talking volume, metallics in colors other then gold or silver, shoe boots and high collars...and a playsuit!
the show runs for a week and hosts over 15 shows a day and aud
iences over 10,000. free to designers and spectators and the fashion pack this is an interesting display of whats hot and whats not!
The below two designs are from designer Penny Baker. Described as a sportswear designer for freaks and misfits. interesting. I love again the play on volume and also the wonderful color selection.

I have to remind myself next year to put in an attendance at this, sounds like my kind of event!!!!
check out the rest of the pics at www.smileplease.net under alternative fashion week

barbie and yet another designer collection......

BARBIE has put her Moschino glad rags on as part of Milan's Furniture Week.

Hot on the heels of all her 50th birthday celebrations at Dover Street Market - where she received the Roksanda Ilincic and Danielle Scutttreatment - the iconic doll is bringing her charm and signature style to the flagship windows of Italian furniture store, Kartell.

Recreating a typical Barbie house layout, the windows have been transformed into six rooms - living room, dressing room, washroom, party terrace, outdoors and tea room - and come complete with a life-sized Barbie in an accompanying Moschino outfit.

Among the looks are a pink trompe l'oeil dress (living room), a cloud print dress (the washroom), a long black dress adorned in rhinestones (the terrace, of course), and a pink houndstooth dress and coat with clutch purse and candy motif high heels (the tea room)

this write up is from vogue.co.uk - normally i would write it myself but i couldn't focus on the right parts to write about because all i could think was, a- BARBIE IS 50????? and B - she does whore herself out to quite a few labels!!!! anyone remember her MAC collection? twas only alright. the colors were a bit simple but better then the hello kitty disaster!!!!

blog probs

I ask people to bear with us as we have been having technical difficulties with posting images lately. as a result blogging has been slow. do bear with us!

gossip girl series two

The season finale of gossip girl happened this week. I cannot stress how great this show is, if you like fashion and loved Sex and...this is a show to fill the void that desperate housewives tried to. a group of new york's upper east sider children fight, bitch and wear fab clothes. all watched over by the anon blogger, gossip girl who is there to report their every move.
and might i add that the boxset is sold out in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and galway!!!!!!
series two part one is on boxset now and the ending is brilliant.
do watch and enjoy!

vintage.com!!!!

as anyone in Ireland who wears vintage knows, a good vintage anything is hard to come by, there are very few places were one can find a once off piece worthy of wear. postively eighth street in Cork is one and The edge in Limerick is another but those are the only two worthy of note outside of Dublin, which is a fair trip for a fair price.
so imagine my surprise when shopping online I came across www.perkupvintage.com. an irish site where you can get some gems. stalking through the clothing at warp speed I happened across these.....
the money involved is normal designer vintage piece prices but worth it for a piece as unique as these. that dress with the gathered neckline, does it remind anyone of Carrie Bradshaw's last piece in the movie when she is reading out the book? no? well it should!!!!!!
as for the polka dot dress? dita von teese wet dream? how perfect for the degree show / graduation/ wedding is it???? to wear with vintage pearls and stunning curls? perfection.

vintage!

just a reminder, the vintage fair is on tommorow! marine hotel. dun laoghaire Dublin. 11 -5 and it's 5 euros to get in, should be some good bargains!

OOO topshop you have crossed a line. Excitedly checking out the sale when i realised, it was all sold out. NOTHING is left. apparently according to their website. no way. it can't be. my only hope now is to check out the stores and hope for the best.

eyelash whores go mad!

well, due to an internet malfunction i have not been able to post, but what a few days!
first of all the week saw an Eyelash Whore outing on Monday night to a house party. myself and jess headed out to meet and greet the public in the first EWhore outing in weeks!
the above photo is miss penny dreadful at her worst! you can see my weight loss here across my chest. it's horrible. i need to put weight on. not my best look, but it will do
myself and jess pose for the camera!

an update and a dress!

I GOT IT!
i got a wonderful degree show dress! A friend of mine who is a wonderful new designer has joyfully agreed to let me wear one of her pieces for the show! Will try to get some photos of the dress up in the next while.
it's a grey and black piece - a body con style shift dress with a beautiful lace pattern. also, what I love about the dress and a nod to Jess's fantastic design abilities is, she used a lace pattern to spray the pattern onto the dress so it's a unique pattern and color. PLUS no one will have it. will be totally rocking the look, need some fierce heels and a clutch bag in black.
in other news will be adding some amazing pics from my day at the races yesterday and also a pic of my outfit from monday nights Eyelash Whore outing.
(the eyelash whores are my group of crazy make-up artists) plus, check out the blog on Monday next week for a fab look at Dublin's vintage get up! the vintage fair is in the MARINE HOTEL IN DUN LAOGHAIRE ON SUNDAY 11 -5. come and say hi!

insomnia blows

I found this lovely flower necklace in topshop tonight. is it not lovely?

Whew....moving is a stressful business! moved back to limerick this morning. bag and baggage. all done. weight off my shoulders! so now i can't sleep and am blogging while drinking melon juice from a wine glass pretending i don't care about the fact that i am Exhausted.
trawling topshop this morning turned up this bag
I am loving fringing this season. but only on certain things. for example.
bags
shoes
waistcoats
jackets
skirts
oh wait, pretty much everything. too long a list.

Friday, April 17, 2009

oh no, my phone is ringing and it's late, it could be an emergancy......i'd better answer it......

phone rings in the empty studio.
penny answers. worried as it's bowie and it's ten to one in the morning.
penny :hello?
bowie : h-h hi. you know what smells?
penny : no what?
bowie : your face.
penny : has there been drink involved with this decision?
bowie : a little yes.
crash.
penny sits bolt upright, hello? hello? ARE YOU THERE? bow wow?
bowie : I am outside my door in the complex and had a fight with the postbox. it won.
penny : where were you? you sound wasted?
bowie : drinking with a boy. a real boy. in a cool bar.
penny : you were not. you were in charlies, I can smell the cheap cocktails down the phone. don't lie to me boy.
crash
penny : are you in your front door yet?
bowie : nearly. oh look.
penny : what did you find?
bowie : two euro on the floor. oh, wait, thats what i was trying to open the front door with, not a key.

I love my friends. really i fucking do. what a bunch of strange and wonderful people!
(for those concerned he actually did get home ok as i texted his flatmate - lovely laura and asked lovely laura to check. she walked into his room and found him asleep on the bed with a shoe next to his face curled up like a kitten.)

too slutty for topshop?

is this too slutty? it's from topshop for around £25, I'm not sure, i think i like it. very Carrie Bradshaw in the series 3 bisexual house party episode. not advailable in black. otherwise i would be totally sold. immediatly. maybe i should wait? can i get some comment help on this issue?

it's all just a little bit of history repeating..............

I was reminded having written such a long blog about Taylor Momsen and being 15 about a website I used to lust over as a teenage goth, So bored tonight I decided to have another look, http://www.dracinabox.com/. now most of it is teenage goth stuff but, a good deal of it is wearable in a fashion sense.
Recently in Camden while on holiday in London I came across a feathered collar that I instantly fell in love with. however the price was a little much for my liking, £75? but, I came across this collar for £35 online. now, I am not as hot on the strap business but i like that the collar can be worn in different ways and different places to make a totally new outfit. I do actually really like it. It takes 5 weeks to deliver though. so Don't order it two weeks before your event. it's made to measure.

Usefully it also stocks stargazer face powder and foundation which is handy. Being in the crazy make-up business I use a lot of this stuff. it's multipurpose and is fantastic for adding a white tint to a face. playing the pale english rose etc and also the eyelash whores normally mix a bit with our regular foundation so the eye make-up stands out a lot more against the pale skin. fun times. so the foundation which you can also get in cork is advailable from this website, should not cost you more then seven euro, pay more, your being had.

stargazer is a hit or miss brand. the eyeshadows are nice colors but the packaging is so badly designed that once the product gets a bit older the pots break and the powder falls everywhere and stains surfaces so I would advise against using the eyeshadow powder but, the foundations above are good and also the hair dye is brilliant, just avoid the lipstick. tastes awful and is greasy. but for those switch to MAC or Barry M. Try their range of glitters too, good for standard clubbing evenings.....

taking a look in the attic..................

(note - not actual attic!!!!!!)

I am going to speak quite honestly here so, here goes, I don't like Awear. there. i said it. it's a shame that I don't because, i don't like the fabrics they use. I used to like them a lot when I was younger and there are some good pieces as basics but not my usual style of clothing. I find it a bit too.......well, just not for me.

So imagine my surprise when scrolling through some stuff I found an article on, The attic.

A new venture for Awear.

the top floor in Awear in Dublin is being converted into a showcase for young designers (presumably from NCAD in Dublin - fashion course) and there will be new designers each weekend on the saturday, hmmm I said curiously. Ok lads. you have my attention.

Since I am planning a business trip to Dublin for the vintage fair weekend after next I thought I would have a sneaky peek at this, new attic business. (plus it's directly across from the loft which is Dublin's best kept secret so if it's shit I can pop in there!!!!) so I'm not sure when it is starting but the launch happened this week (hence the slightly preteen attendance photos in the Cork Examiner - hmmm, off putting slightly?) but the concept is brilliant.

I think it's well worth a look anyway considering that being a young designer mid/post college is hard when you have to break out onto the scene and getting somewhere to work with you and showcase your designs is hard work.

it would have been nice if in a nod to the Limerick course in LSAD they offered the same deal as in 'the basement' (we have no upstairs in ours!) but maybe if Dublin is a success they could expand the operation.

So expect coverage of 'The Attic' if it indeed has happened when I get to Dublin on the 25th of April..............watch this space...............

and a handy tip for my fellow students - Awear has just launched their student discount. 15% which is pretty tasty considering Arcadia is only 10%. So flash that card!

and speak! kind sir!

right, I have now posted a link so people can contact me via the blog if ye need anything!
a stern warning - I will not be answering messages about penile implants, virius or spam or viagra. so don't waste your time! but i am there to answer any queries about me or the blog you may have.
as for the picture above? yes it has no relevance to the blog text but, doesn't it make you feel better about your hair?!!!!

happy 100th post miss penny dreadful!

we rock!

vintage hats!

my vintage camden finds - the postman hat. rocks doesn't it?
vintage 1987 hat for the degree show, i am going to have a problem with matching the color!

hair gone today, grown out tommorow!

It's funny when you look back over at hair styles you loved and hated isn't it? it's a very love hate thing. I found some i LOVE and some i realllly should have thought a bit more about!
My pink fringe. R.I.P. died a painful bleach filled death. I love it here though. the camera angle suggests what I was. drunk as fuck. but I do love the photo angle. the fringe is fucking waaaaay too long though. with my extensions in. it was a fun look for one night. although the fringe lasted waaaay too long.
short and brown. this time last year. with the world's biggest chip on my shoulder I headed back to college a bitter twisted fuck and chopped all my hair off as a statement and got rid of my trademark blonde for the first time since i was 15. I love this shot. i tried to get the same angle as Edie Sedgwick in Ciao Manhatten but i look like i'm staring at a stain on the ceiling!!!!!!!! loved those massive hoops from Dorothy Perkins. Could only wear them once a week as they hurt and then fell to pieces but the t-shirt is from my X boyfriend - Notorious P.I.G'S wardrobe. it's a Run DMC top. god I hate that that got lost because I was going to steal it before i dumped him!!!! - well at least i'm honest!
the stupid internet wont let me post anymore photos off bebo so will have to finish this post another time because it's a STUPID computer

back in time to 1916 through vogue!

I recently found a section on the vogue.com website where i couldn't resist calling it's bluff. advertising to have all the covers from 1916? right....sure......that's where i got caught out. it actually does, so I have piled together a pretty impressive display of wonderful vogue covers which I like from different eras using this which i think is pretty cool. I love Vogue and buy it every month without fail. pouring through it. it allows me to dream which is why i buy it. i fantasise about when I move to A CITY and i would be able to afford wonderful creations and go to fab parties like this. but most of all i love the dream of being a fashion journalist. which I have realised would never happen for someone like me. so dream on penny dream on.
