saint germain rocks!

dodgy photo yes , but i finally gave in and bought the lipstick, saint germain from MAC. I am now going to do a feature about different lip colors I love. so this is currently number one. demands a full eye color and a flawless foundation.  I am currently sporting (thanks to the heartful dodger - thanks girly!) the studio fix foundation above.

looks like miss allen has discovered the joys of committment free hair color changes! wigs i mean, the easiest way to change your hair color and not have that awkward getting used to it, grow it out or clashing your wardrobe phase. perfect for those who can't be bothered committing to a long term hair color thing right now. if your growing your hair and dont want to change the color or cut it (like me). but just choose your color carefully, unlike this loser below

its ok, i can say that, because its me!!!! three years ago in dublin checking out wigs and stuff! fun times! the best deals can actually be found in afro carribean shops in towns like by the bus station in Limerick. hair extensions are cheaper there too.

leaked madonna for louis vuitton shots

The fashion world is up in arms about the leaked photos of Madonna's supposedly second shoot for louis vuitton. these images are not supposed to be in magazines until september which is embarrassing, not to mention costly for the brand as it takes a lot of money to get madonna looking well....i mean, to model for them....oops. but, allegedly there are seven shots each with a new bag and shoes in each shot. all of which are advailable for uploading online for a sneak peek at their collection. while there is no official comment as of yet. i'm sure there will be a few heads rolling over this one.......

I reported before that sex and the city the movie - round two - was going to be interesting as Patricia Field, styling queen had not yet signed on the dotted line to confirm she would as usual style the four lovely ladies, well, rumour on set has it that,

it's over Sarah Jessica Parker's decision to make Carrie a full blown recessionista. The plans for the film as leaked by Sarah Jessica herself are that the recession will play a massive part in the new film. Carrie and big and samantha will loose a big portion of their finances as a lot of people have. Miss parker wants to make the film as current as possible by including the current economic crisis.

but miss field has other ideas. stating that she has no plans to join the recession and the city because she felt that (this is all rumour by the way) sex and the city is escapisim and fantasy and that people watch the show for fashion escapisim and including the recession will bore those who tune in for carries style addiction. i must say, i agree with her.

I watch sex and the city for the escapisim and the dream that is the exagerated lifestyle of sex and the city. i like to think that some day, i will be able to afford a chanel bag with my dior dress and my patricia field inspired get up while I meet my friends for coffee interrupted by bad cameos from crap celebs (heather graham and geri halliwell's awful cameo. the only decent cameo was lucy lu playing herself i think. the thought of geri halliwell makes me cringe inside)

Alice in wonderland photos released

As we all know the genius that is Tim Burton is remaking alice in wonderland. these are the first images from the new film that have been released. Featuring the lovely johnny depp and helen boham carter as the red queen and the mad hatter. same people in every film, hey, suppose if its not broke don't fix it. the make-up is amazing. can't wait for this film.

Some people have a talent to make me sick with style envy. Taylor Momsen in D&G this week made me a little bit sick. then her shoes made me dribble a little bit with style lust. Can't believe someone that young is decked out so well. its not fair. when i was 15 i was rocking some awful style choices....shudderrrrr......

MR CHOO!!!! coming to a h+m in dublin (nowhere else near you)

I have some sexy news.......remember earlier in the month when i reported that Jimmy Choo are designing for H + M? well, there's more....

brace yourself ladies.........

they are remaking their classic shoe designs ranging from £30 - £100 - so good high street prices all round. good on H + M for not selling out to designer prices - unlike topshop and Miss Moss's range of extortinate clothing.....

they are also remaking a few of their lovely bags....

but mostly excitedly, Mr Choo will be designing a clothing range to go with the shoes.... told you this was one to watch...

I have been watching a few selections of my fave Choo shoes to get myself fired up and ready for this monster of a collection. trust me. this will be a handbag at dawn cat fight for the last pair. bring weapons of high street fighting such as handbags with sharp edges, heels for kicking and a whistle for attracting attention incase you get shoved into rails and buried under clothing.

better yet, invest in a tent and camp outside overnight. I can add though, i am willing to put good money on it that Dublin will be the only place in ireland with the collection and Limerick wont get a tap of silver shoe on a wooden floor..... TO THE BUS SHELTER!!!!!!!

pimp my partner

There is nothing better then a challenge. miss penny does love a good one. so recently i got whisked away to dublin for my birthday....fab....but anyway, A challenge was issued. in a few days time I would like to ask the readers of this blog to vote.

a new poll will open next week. the aim of this poll is to decide who is the better stylist.

in Dublin, the boyfriend and i decided to style each other and drag each other out of our style comfort zones to see who had the better style ideas.

So if you have ever wondered what sort of clothing your boyfriend would choose for you, or you have ever wanted to style up your boyfriend, this is the vote for you!!!!

the challenge :

to style each other in clothes selected from topshop and topman. Each person had half an hour to select and put together an outfit from start with no input (other then sizes) from their partner. the outfit had to be a casual look for daytime. (shoes were not included but accessories were)

the reward :

If Miss Penny wins Adam has to take her for dinner in Limerick one night. a romantic meal for two people. wherever she likes. If adam wins, miss Penny has to cook a three course romantic meal for two people in the flat (Miss Penny has no income!!!)

la roux rocks topshop

I've been singing the praises - and the songs ! - of la roux for a while now. loving her look. elly jackson. topshop have cottoned on to her unique style - and glowing endorsement from vogue as well - and have gotten la roux to choose her fave pieces from topshop.com at the mo. check it out online but, i am more mad after her lovely red quiff.......can't buy that can you???

To anyone in the know, irregular choice ( advailable from schuh or office or irregularchoice.com) are the only place to shop if , like me, you like interesting eye catching footwear, you don't mind paying extra and you like shoes that fit well.

this is a selection from their spring summer 09 catalogue that caught my eye. the rest of the catalogue is also worth a look. but, be warned. irregular choice can sometimes need to be fixed before they are worn. i have two pairs in dire need of fixing. but its often a simple job, easily done, and away you go!!! expect to pay about €200 for pair give or take. and they attract serious attention.......

god knows i love a good t-shirt. and one of my fave brands is TEE AND CAKE for topshop. lord knows their website is a bit.....different. but their collection of t-shirts for topshop is spot on. they have done, 80's bands, bands, movies and now these.I full on love the barbara top!!!!!

dole queues destroy the soul

I am going to have a little rant.

while sitting in a room of about 6 capable, young people around my own age, 5 of which with degrees I was struck by something. we are all either on the dole or applying.

the age of employment for graduates is over.

i find myself annoyed. today i went for my dole interview and now have to wait a month for the interview. so its going to be a month before they will even consider thinking about the dole. I am screwed. It got me thinking though. how many other graduates like myself are in the same position right now?

the recession has ruined things for us. I would literally take any work right now. I am holding out for something in fashion retail. the worst part is, i am hard working, ambitious, capable, enthusiastic, self motivated and experienced - and still there are no jobs.

our government has really failed the youth of the country. in fact, they have failed all of us.

and i for one am not amused.

behold. the rayban clubmaster. can i just ask what do people think of this style of rayban? i've seen them on a few people and i am not sure how to feel about them. i think the chunkier form of rayban suits me better but this looks quite stylish on the right person. i think. the debate rages...... are they in or out?

While it lasts, the magazine glamour is giving away small pots of benefit's 'bad gal lash' mascara. go fly my pretties. its a great way to see if you like the mascara, which you will. but, also the magazine is €3-something. correct me if i am wrong. but these are recessionary times my dear and the days when €3 - something will get you a magazine AND  mascara are few and far between. So there you have it. the gods have spoken.

river island gold award

congratulations are in order to graduate fashion week winner mryto samou who won the river island gold award. her collection a series of nude and futuristic designs won £20,000!!!!! judged by Matthew Williamson and Giles Deacon it was a hard crowd to please. claudia schiffer was also judging. GFW runs from 8 -11 june and is a great opertunity for young designers to showcase their works of art slash fashion.

the imelda may gig in dolans warehouse

As you know, the wonderful Imelda May rocked Limerick with her band last night. she literally blew me away.  I'm in love! as well as being an amazing sounding vocalist and stunning song writer, i found me a new style icon. seriously, if you get a chance, snap up tickets to see her. her  voice is amazing.....

the muffin to end all muffins

depressingly, it's always the bloody way. you nip into the petrol stations of this world to get the essentials, coffee, fags, petrol or credit and you come out with something a bit naughty.

for me, i stopped to get diet coke and came out with, a brick of a muffin.

i dunno bout you, but i reckon this muffin could stop world hunger.

well, it will stop my hunger anyway....
