student idiot pees on poppies.....

this is from yahoo news : I think its funny in an awful way....

student who sparked outrage after he was photographed drunkenly urinating over a war memorial has avoided prison.
Philip Laing had been warned he could face prison after the picture showed him soaking a poppy wreath following a drinking session in Sheffield city centre.
The 19-year-old, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, admitted the offence when he appeared earlier this month at Sheffield Magistrates' Court.
District Judge Anthony Browne said he had considered jailing Laing but added he had never seen anyone before him who was more contrite and ordered him to do 250 hours community service.
Laing's evening had begun with him sharing a bottle of whisky with a friend before consuming vast amounts of alcohol at an event organised by student party group Carnage.
Mr Browne said Laing had told probation officers all the drinks were £1 for the Carnage bar crawl.
He said he understood Laing was so drunk he couldn't remember anything of the evening.
The District Judge said: "No one forced you to take all this drink, or forced it down you, or persuaded you to commit a criminal offence.
"You did that all by yourself and you must take responsibility."
Mr Browne said the offence took place as part of a culture of drinking too much.
"In my view something does need to be done to change this culture. What you have done has outraged and offended many and has saddened most," he said.
Laing, wearing a smart grey suit, pink shirt and a blue-and-red striped military style tie, sat with his head bowed for most of the hearing as his parents sat just a few feet
away behind his solicitor.
He avoided entering and leaving the court by the public entrance as he was allowed to go through a neighbouring police station.
But his parents did leave by the public exit and his mother said only: "He's sorry. He's very, very sorry," as she left.
Mr Browne also ordered Laing to pay £185 prosecution costs.
A spokeswoman for Sheffield Hallam University said a disciplinary hearing would be held now the court case had concluded."
is it just me or is this another WAR/topman/scene-ster/blogger/idiot who thinks it's cool and wanted to be cutting edge and impress his friends. BTW - check out how small the black out bit is....

ready for the floor. limerick.

so off again i plundered. into the fire depths of costello hell. After sipping on a few mojitos in Aubars in Limerick we split (aubars is a bad place. shite music, terrible drink prices and people flaunting their muffin tops openly. almost proudly.) so off we went to costellos. you know where you are with it really. thats all you can say.
the rabbit was in attendance and attending and pretending to be interested again. but, been there before and don't really care so gave the brush off while pretend (ahem) to be drunk and disturbingly rooting for my lipstick in my bag.
so many faces, so many places,
it was like being back. but not. so so odd. anyway, above is my MAC lipstick in ruby woo, edith's sequinned vest as i packed no nice clothes and my specs which did not survive the trip back to dublin. booooooo

come on, let's get frocked.

lipstick from stargazer, foundation =mac, eyeliner = rimmel, eyebrows = avon. vintage curl = 5 hours.

all creatures great and small and on my head........

these are indeed made from real london rats. from an honest to god taxidermist. I kinda like it. I think it's so strange-ly brilliant!. I actually want one. just to see what people would say to me. I think they do have a cute and quirky style to them. I would love to hold one and see what it feels like. My fave is the head piece of actual rats. that I want. this company is currently looking for someone who wants to sell their stuff. http://www.rpencore.com/

by the way, ecouterre.com - enjoyed your opening line, 'Edward Cullen is that you?'
going to set up a vote in a few days time when your done with the vote on Ann Doyle V Pat kenny one.....
the designer is one Reid Peppard who graduated from, wait for it, Central Saint Martins - knew it - in 2004 with a degree in Fine Art (same as me just did it in Limerick) . she also assures us all that the rats have all died natural deaths. good to know.

more ecouterre.com.....a new addiction coming on

this dress is a design by Sebastian Errazuriz and is easily made into collections of different dresses or boob tubes, or whatever really. go team go!

oh god, strolling around their site i had to bring you this last piece......a dress made from zips. so it is a little bit, degree collection but i love it. i think it's well amazing and deserves a round of zippular clapping!

(ropey looking model though.....)

ecouterre.com

this head piece is one of my fave pieces from that collection. it screams, take me to war...you know you want to.....

I love this. these fab pieces of fashion-arity are made from old recycled seat belts. how cool is that. (the models are not though. they are actual people. recycled people though)

this is a company called ecouterre(.com) who make the most amazing pieces of recycled clothing. this collection is by Greta Constentine. and I am loving it. Just loving it. I like the really structured way she has folded the rubber to make the pieces.

do check out the site as it's always important to support eco fashion and causes. always. fact.

TIGHTS! oh my word! tights!

I think i'm in love. I decided to re-visit some old sites I loved and one of these was, http://www.bebaroque.co.uk/ - see links list. They have an amazing selection of fancy tights. And I do love my fancy tights and such. these fringed stockings were my pick of day. i think they are amazing. even if i don't like the model's shoes. if they come in black. i'm sold.i also loved the opening shot of the model on the site. although i suspect some jiggery pokery has gone on with the photoshoot around the model's waist. i suspect they removed some serious lung space. but, models are a superior breed and do not need to breathe so all's well that ends well ...

a promise from your faithful blogger

this is a promise. you will never see the following people written about in magazine terms (aka - glowing because they are terrified of lawyers) on this blog. ever. That is a promise. this site up holds it's promise to report in scathing and truthful as ever tones. If someone is worthy of some fun poking. i promise you, we will not just poke the fun but take it and beat them over the head with it......after all, this ain't no Heat magazine now is it ?

the following are :
Jedward
Katie price / Jordan
Kerry katona
useless X factor sluts - i mean singers.
useless i am not a celebrity and doing this for the money - get me out of here contestants
strictly come celebrity ball room dancing - seriously, why do people watch this ?
ann doyle. her glass eye freaks me out.
( miss penny dreadful would like to point out for libel reasons that Ann Doyle does not in fact have a glass eye or a lazy eye or anything other then 20/20 vision. any statement contrary to that fact should not be taken as fact. at all. not even a little. not even a smidge. but seriously, what is up with it!!!!)
Pat kenny. he of the wooden embarrassing interviews on the wooden embarrassing RTE.
and anyone else i feel comes under this headline of useless celebrity - Girls from off the rails I am looking at you....

( miss penny dreadful would like to point out for libel reasons that the girls from RTE's off the rails are not useless. but use-FUL members of Irish society. in fact their contribution to the current sequin trend has been very helpful to the Irish economy. Sales of badly fitted sequinned dresses have rocketed in recent years thanks to their persuading of fat people that yes, you too can indeed, wear a body con. (ann doyle I am looking at you) and this has had a direct impact on the Irish economy. raising sales through body cons. and this is how the country will heal the recession rot. by size 18's wearing lace panel sequinned dresses. bet into 'em.)

So while someone somewhere will have an issue with anything at some point on my blog. reminder, this is a commentary site where you can feel free to not read anything which insults you or someone else. and all that jazz.
seriously, the eye! the eye!

Do something good with your good money......

occasionally on the blog we do get a little serious. occasionally (see below blog concerning marriage) so I am delighted to give a little blog space to a good cause.
So, RTE sports journalist Tracy Piggott is hosting a charity fundraiser on the 10th of december for her charity, playing for life which works in Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya teaching skills and trades to young people as well as using play and sport to educate about HIV and Aids.
the tickets are €250 and it's in the Village at Lyons.
it's a Diamond night and promises to be well worth the money. So if your looking for something different and something good to do around the early days of December, this could be it!
and look at it this way, you will need a new dress and this means, yes, you guessed it.....a trip to the old top of shop.....you know you want to.....
Miss Penny will also be showing some photos of the Catwalk later on in the month from the event.....stay tuned kids!

john galliano s/s10

I have come across some lovely shots of the new John Galliano ready to wear collection for spring summer 2010. I wouldn't put outfits together as he has but, I really do love the odd piece here and there. While there is a define military / navy theme to this (or i feel there is) I do love his theatre make-up. its what I have been saying for years. give me a black lipstick, a face veil and a liquid eye liner and i am happy out.....
theatre and make-up go hand in hand. in hindsight, the smoke machine is a big no no.....

louise kennedy and the winter wonder land.

A lovely press release popped up in my inbox recently concerning Louise Kennedy and her winter collection. For those of you who do not know her work. its a great way of getting designer clothing supporting Irish designers and well, looking fab for actual affordable prices. it's also great that her winter collection 09 features some amazing winter dresses that are suitable for those of us with big important work functions to attend....myself included. it's a great chance to find something new and interesting to wear.
these can be found at no.56 Merrion square in Dublin. I will be popping in myself to get a look at some of the designs and the magical winter wonder land set up in store in the next week so stay tuned for more!
to whet your fashion appetite here are some of the key looks from the season below. Miss Penny's picks.....

I think my personal fav has got to be the dress with the cut out parts in the sleeves. it still covers the top of the arms (problem area for most) and manages to look very sleek and designer. it's a collection which brings to mind the work of  Philip Lim and his wonderful collection. the folds in the dress are quite feminine and most of the dresses are advailable in bright jewel colors. oh and Lavin as well. but these are quite affordable and something different. all in all. well worth a look

but wait, topshop has a silver lining for my cloud of doom......you can hire one. from them. oh my frickin god. then the dress will be taken stripped off your contribution to it ( i:e - dry cleaned to rid of the sweat stains, fag smokes and that kebab you ate before your gag reflex kicked in....and what happened after it did) and then auctioned for charity. be still my beating lack of a heart!!!!
you can also hire famous designer gear for fuck all too.

Having worked with Topshop for so long, we didn't think twice about donating our dress. It's such a great cause, especially at this time of year," Emma Cook explained. "The combination of being able to help support Age Concern and Help The Aged and the chance for someone to wear our dress that wouldn't ordinarily be able to afford to, is such a fantastic concept."

oh my frickin god......get a load of the dita von teese dress. you could kill men in that dress. strike 'em clean schtone dead......
