new make-up day!

fooling around with new make-up and creating something a little bit beautiful
Clinique lipgloss. I used this gloss as I found I liked the natural color. the lack of disgusting smell from the tube - AND it's handy enough that I can use it and slip it back into my handbag safe in the knowledge it has not emptied itself onto my contents!
The gloss is fool proof. It's almost clear so you can't go wrong with it.
This compact is from MAC. it's again so handy I can just slip it into my handbag and hope for the best. it has a useful little brush too so no carting around huge brushes with yourself
These are the colors in the palette. I have only had time to try the medium shade of pink in it. I find the white is great for highlighting the corners of the eyes. the look I have done this evening has no white in it. but I used the light pink and medium pink layered together to make the pinkish shade on the inside corner of my eye. I also layered a MAC blusher in there too.
The nail varnish is Barry M in that shade. yes friends. this is the cheats guide to the sell out chanel nail varnish from last season. The irony is, It looks better on this season as it's so light and floaty free....

I used this compact from MAC to create the darker blue edges to my look. The lighter blue is used to blend in the pinkish tone and I used the two darker blue to shade out into the flick. Add black liquid liner to create Winehouse flicks. blend the blue into the flick. I just used a MAC black eye crayon to draw under the eyes. again handy little brush. But the flaw in the design is that the mirror is tiny and in the wrong part of the compact. meaning it's impossible to see what your doing
ah ha. Dodgy photo of me in the newsroom with the compact closed
The overall effect. My base is awful here as I literally had 5 seconds after jumping out of the bath to pop on some eye color and slap on some powder. I'm getting into using powder at the moment. A combination of benefit's 'get even' powder and MAC's hello kitty powder seem to do the trick. fooling people that i have spent hours perfecting my base.
The headpiece is a small one I bought in river island during my travels. I thought it was quite sweet.
Looking troubled in the newsroom. My eyebrows are my new vanity. I love them. I have never plucked, waxed or shaved them. but rather discovered that AVON do a nice glimmerstick which helps me to shape them. Otherwise being blonde I would have no eyebrows
A close up so you can see the blending going on. This look was inspired by the Chloe runway this season. I liked the double denim (denim on top and bottom) look going on and decided to try and rework it into a eyeshadow. the over all effect is very girlie
yeah, so thats it really. A simple, low key and easy thing to get going. (the dress by the way is from Awear)
