Everyone everywhere has been whispering about the unbelievable. Lagerfeld retiring. It has been gathering momentum going from the girls huddled in the loos at LFW to the assistant buyers at PFW back to london. It's a rumour refusing to die.

until Chanel came out in force to deny that it will happen anytime soon.

"Karl Lagerfeld is the creative designer of Chanel and has a long-term contract with the company," a Chanel spokesperson from Paris. "Replacing him is not an issue."

Lagerfeld has insisted in the past that he will "die with his boots on" - and, whilst not confirming claims that Chanel owner Alain Wertheimer has vowed to sell the label upon his departure, he asserted it is a "nice thing to be told".
Mind you, if you had an employee that managed to ship in a massive ice berg from Sweden in time for your show which 35 ice sculptors to make and weighed 240 tons, you wouldn't let him go anytime soon would you?

Chanel showcased their latest collection admist a giant iceberg while models walked on ice water and assistants shivered and ran for coffees for their bosses. woop woop. lagerfeld lives on. Chanel rules! From shows were Lilly Allen pops up in a barn dance to giant ice bergs. the fashion designer is certainly not afraid to push the design boat out and tear up the rule book. In fact he has just signed up to present a capsule collection of shoes for Hogans. the Italian shoe brand. Wonderful.....
