Blair Waldorf looks manly

Check out Leeton meester - how the hell do you spell that - either way, yer wan off gossip girl and her AMAZING take on a suit. I want.
There is something very very hot about women taking over menswear. Very hot indeed and Blair rocks it.

MCQ love

I am in love. I decided to have a look at the current MCQ collection after news came that their new collection will be 25% cheaper. I am full on in love with this. How many times a week do I say this a week?
But it does have a touch of Westwood about it. Maybe thats just because I can't see tartan without thinking westwood.

MCQ line to be cheaper - Penny throws party!

SCREAM! MCQ has been made over. It's the cheaper and younger line from Alexander McQueen. The line has all the trademarks of McQueens more expensive line - little gothic touches to blouses and jackets, fantastic tailoring and historical little pieces.
The MCQ line is sold in a few places. Such as Harvey Nichols and asos.com. But the best news? MCQ designers have revealed that the line will be cheaper by 25%!!!!
I am full on in love with above dress.
We reported a few months ago that MCQ were planning to take more control over their line and to take it back from directors based in Italy. If this is the result - fantastic!!! Bring it on!

Macca has baby girl!

Congrats to designer Stella Macca today anyway - she gave birth to a baby girl! Reiley Willis. Happy days. I'm sure that this will help her get over the embarrassing tweets revealed to the nation (and indeed on this blog) where Dolce and Gabbana revealed that they don't know the designers work! Describing her as a stylist! OOOOOPS!
Morto for ya love

THE DREADFUL DIARIES : snooooooowed up and happy

THE DREADFUL DIARIES : SNOW!

So I'm stuck. Cork is covered in snow, Dublin is covered in snow. Good thing I'm in Limerick where there is no snow!!! Hurrah! Can't make it to Dublin as it's actually too dangerous to go! So no college for me! Hurrah!
Which I don't know if I am happy about that or not. Possibly not.
In other news I am missing a press day as it's too dangerous to go. Im going to see how things go and I might leave tommorow if the snow gets any better. Otherwise I'll head to Cork on Friday instead. Got my eye on a pair of 7 euro clogs (YES 7 euro) from Topshop. Having scored amazingly with the white dress recently that I wanted for a couple of months. I actually recommend checking out the tail end of the sales in smaller cities. Dublin is picked clean. But Galway and Cork still have some amazing bargains to be found. I'm planning on picking up a maxi dress in black, the clogs, a pair of denim shorts with a floral trim. However, the jewelry section is crap. NOWHERE has good jewelry!
Anyway - enough of my clothing obsessions! I'm off for a hot chocolate in Cafe Noir with E. It's the best part of the 'cold snap' (hate that expression with passion) the chance to eat and drink till your jeans split!!!!
Hold the marshmellows!

XOXOXOXOXOXO

The importance of the little black dress

Introducing the range of Karen Millen LBD. I am a firm believer in having that one (or more) little black dress in your wardrobe. I have about 3 that I know I can rely on. It will never let you down, never fail to look stylish and like you've made an effort AND black goes with every other color meaning you can make it look like a new dress each time by changing your accessories.
Result!
Either way, this dress collection is a great idea. Not all shapes suit all body sizes and shapes. For example. I know that no matter how much I love them, I can't wear a structured dress like a Galaxy. Because my shoulders are too broad and my legs are too long. So the dress comes up too short and way too tight around my arms. I also know I can't wear corsets since my waist is high and the bones dig in. I DO however know I can wear wrap dresses since I have a tiny waist and anything A line and really short looks great since my legs are long. However both E and Z my BFFs can wear styles I can't. Since they have different shapes to me.
The long and short of this being that it takes time to find the perfect dress shape for you. Time and research and you will get it wrong. At least 3 times. But don't despair! Once you have the dress in your wardrobe you can relax.
In the meantime though, there are always those dresses from Karen Millen!

Lace for Zoo and gisele for Vogue

Two new covers. Two magazines. Gisele above and Daphne Guinness below. LOVING the headpiece on Daphne. I do love a good lace head dress. Does wonders for an outfit. However, if your looking for the lace rabbit ears which have been seen all over the place (think Olsen and your halfway there) then I can inform you that Accessorize have them. For about 10 -15 euro.
JOB.

Beth Ditto looks amazing!!

Wow, How much better is Ditto looking now that she's given up pretending she doesn't have eyebrows?!?!
I know they are drawn on and more then likely useless. But seriously. She looks good! I have been a fan of Ditto for quite some time now - but woman is mental!!! She eats squirrels!!!!
Lest we forget that fact.....

nasty see through dress. I can't come up with a better title then that really.

Of all the stupid things. That see through nighty yoke that Kate Middleton wore in a fashion show in 2002 has been valued at 10,000. No, I'm being serious. That disgusting piece of tat is worth 10,000. Why?
Because when she walked the catwalk, Prince William was sitting in the front row. People can dress this up (or under in the case of this dress) all they like, the fact is - she had her bits out and after all, the prince is a guy. OF COURSE, he liked the dress.
I liked the dress.
well, actually I wouldn't go that far.....I have taste.
Either way, IF the dress was auctioned - which it wont be. The 'designer' is holding onto this one it could expect that, and more when yer wan becomes queen.
Basically the designer (Charlotte Todd) had this to say to someone pretending to care : The dress is a part of fashion history - the moment William could first have fallen in love with Kate - and that makes me really proud," Todd said today. "I don't think I'll sell it. I want it to be in a collection of Kate's royal dresses in future. The only person I'd probably give it to is her. Maybe in exchange for a wedding invitation." (keep dreaming love)

WHAT I WORE TODAY : Massively long edition!

I decided to have a bit of a play with the dress up box tonight. Mainly for two reasons -
1 - I finally got the red wine stain out of this pink dress that I'm not sure if I even like
2 - I have ethics coursework due that I have yet to do.
So off I go.
(above boots - Topshop)
This is the dress. I don't normally wear pink as I hate it. It's too girly for me. I also am unsure about the little shoulder details. But there you go.
dress - topshop
waistcoat - urban outfitters
hat - river island
lipstick - rimmel hot pink
My new dress. Bought on Friday as a treat for myself. Found the last one left in my size in Topshop in Cork. For 7 euro!!!! Considering I nearly bought this for like 50 euro, I was delighted!
dress - Topshop
very crumpled blazer - River Island
hat - Joke shop
I do love a good maxi dress. Although this is a summer one, I intend on adding tights, ankle boots with chunky socks, a thick cardigan and a kick ass wooly hat!
I never wear this. I am FAR from Serena Van Der Woodsen. I am never as body conscious as I am when I wear a body con dress. Even though on paper I have the figure for it. I'm a 8-10 now and 6 ft tall. I just convince myself I look slutty and fat.
So even though I own 2 I never wear them.
dress - Oasis (best makers of body con on the high street - their body cons really move with your body and make it easy on you.)
glittery snood - Pennys
I decided to make this body con my own. By adding my usual punk/rock attire over the top of it.
iron maiden t-shirt - Urban Outfitters
bowler hat - Vintage shop in Milan. (the country, not a shop in Dublin. Incase I get emails)
By tying the t-shirt over the dress I feel a lot less exposed. A lot more comfortable. My little space in the world. Looking a little messy right now!
The finished effect. Although I would totally throw a pair of tights on this if going outside the front door since I hate my legs. Horrible!
From body con to floaty. Giving my self esteem a break I decided to try out my version of a look I saw during the week. The skirt is a long maxi skirt which is borderline impossible to walk in. So I layered the grey mini dress over the top. The high part of the hem on the grey makes it difficult to wear since it's fecking short!!!!!
grey metal necklace - freedom jewelry
dress - Topshop Unique
Skirt - Topshop
belt - vintage - it was my mom's in the 80's
Decided to try on a headscarf. Z gave me this for my 25th. I love it. It's vintage but fucked if i know where she got it.
celebrate!
Following on from the Prada craze for 50's inspired looks I dragged this out of my wardrobe. I bought this years ago while I worked for Oasis. I had admired the red version and stupidly not moved quickly enough and it slipped from my fingers. So I snapped up the purple one. I've only worn it once - to the races with a veil and leather gloves. I need to replace the belt since i don't like the belt being the same color as the dress.
dress - oasis belle range
hat - river island
I added a little tux jacket to it. Not a great picture but the fact that the dress is belted at the waist and flares out nicely and then the tux ends at my waist means that it makes me look tiny. I couldn't believe how thin i looked. then I took this awful pic.
tux - Warehouse
I believe in adding crazy accessories to already slightly sexy stuff. So I added this feathered cape to the same tux jacket over PVC.
Feathered cape - river island (although Biba in house of fraser has them)
tux - warehouse
dress - LOVE at Topshop. PVC pencil dress
I can't wear this dress for long. It's too big for me and hangs off my boobs!

I forgot to throw on a bra so if your offended, fuck you. I don't really care. I love this vest. It's baggy but wonderful.
Blazer - Topshop
vest - Kate Moss for Topshop 1st collection
trousers - Topshop (oh dear)
I teamed these with some mental looking accessories since the outfit is fairly bloody boring.
Shoes - irregular choice
earrings - freedom jewelry
you can't see it. but there is totally little bears on my shoes
nail varnish - black by barry m
Getting tired now.
I love this maxi but am never sure how to wear it. So I always throw on something stupid with it. This time it's my vintage army hat. Not sure if it works but I am too tired to give a shit.
maxi dress - River island
waistcoat - urban outfitters
hat - vintage
Right. That's your lot folks! Need some sleeps! xx x x x xx

rich tea...

Nothing to do with fashion - but this made me laugh today

Prada leaked photos? For reals?

I'm very aware I can get into a lot of trouble for these. But the blog-sphere is biting back! A series of blogs posted these photographs which appear to be leaked images from the Prada SS11 campaign. Within hours the photos were removed. After legal folk from Prada got involved. However, there are a series of blogs that are refusing to remove the imagery. Saying it's about time the advertising world got taken down a peg.
I dunno. I understand that advertising like this takes a lot of money to produce and keep slick. I mean, I'd hate to pour money into something like this only to have it leaked shortly afterwards. But there are other ways then going mental with legal stuff to have the images removed.
Why not spin the internet stuff to your advantage rather then pretend it's not happening? I mean, it's not going to make much difference. You shut down one blog and up pops another.
So.....What do you think?
