WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING : The Modelling Agency

I am totally conflicted about this one. From the first episode, it seemed as if here were a nice bunch of people who really liked each other, their jobs and their clients. Oh, and the models. But then from the second episode onwards, it seemed as if they could not stop bitching at and about each other. There is something very creepy about watching people who are so aware of the cameras at all times. They never seem to let their guard down. They never loose their 'trying to be nice' attitude. But then, maybe, they are just nice.
It is an interesting concept. After all, we've had docus about models, designers, make-up artists and just about every part of 'the industry' but this is new. No one thinks about the agencies unless they are a design house. We forget that these girls are a product which have to be pushed, promoted or as the team on TMA refer to it "Nutured." Yeah, how creepy is that?
I know that the Sunday Times have chewed this up and spat it back out. Unimpressed by it. But something is keeping me watching it. I can't switch off. Weird I know.
I think the best thing to do is to give it a try yourself. Decide and see what you think. Lord knows I can't make up my mind yet. And I'm halfway through the series!
