I just about got there!
TRENDS ON THE NIGHT : A lot of beige chiffon blouses means that spring is properly on us! There were also a lot of skinny jeans which happily means those predicting the death of the skinnies after the 70's flared trend for this season - are wrong. Fashionistas will NEVER let the skinny jean die! I noticed a lot of buckles. On shoes, jackets and jewelry. Reminding me of Vivienne Westwoods '97 collection.
WHAT WE DRANK : Champagne with the option of non alcoholic beverages for those driving.
WHAT WE ATE : A delightfut selection of Salmon wrapped around asparagus with parma ham, Tuna and lemon tarts with salsa and a fantastic beef dish with a slight curry flavour.
WHY WERE YOU THERE : It was an awards ceremony to mark the 125th birthday of Triumph. All proceeds from the night went to a good cause. To help those affected by the Japanese earthquake. George Lamb hosted while the judging panel was aided by the lovely Brix Smith Start from Gok Wan's fashion fix.
MAKE-UP AND HAIR : While all hair was tied back, the make-up was statement with models sporting a strong eyebrow and coral red lipstick.
We settled down for the show at around eight before taking some photos. The standard of work on the night was amazing. The judges must have had such a hard time choosing just three! Apart from a few sound hiccups, the night was a great success and indeed great fun!
But trust Brown Thomas to put on a great night!
I'm very proud of myself though, I made it the whole way through without an impulsive Choo related purchase once!
1st Place : 'Edge of euphoria.' by Sarah Ryan. LSAD.
2nd Place : 'Why do dishes when you can do daquiris? by Stephen Foley. LsadA fun and 50's kitsch way to wear bows! I love the playfulness of this design and the bright colors are certainly on trend!
3rd Place - 'Feline Fantasy' by Svitlana Andriyets from LSAD.This was my pick. I saw it in the photocall on Grafton street in the morning and fell in love with it. It was so show stopping.
