There is no denying Elle Macpherson has a smoking hot body and has years of experience in the fashion industry, which should make her a perfect fit for Britain's Next Top Model, but it doesn't.
I tuned in a few days ago to watch it and was struck by how wooden she was. How.....not quite right. Don't get me wrong, Lisa Snowden wasn't a much better fit then MacPherson. But I just found it all a bit meh....
I haven't seen any of the Australian or Canadian versions, but to me it just seems like they have trouble getting the fit just right for the British version. They never seem to have the formula right.
However it is nice to see an Irish girl playing the game! Apparently she was shopping in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street (I forget the poor girl's name) when Elle came up to her and asked her to audition. Nice work - if you can get it!
Meh, America's Next... works because Tyra is insane. I mean literally there is something very wrong about her. (if you think there isn't then you should google that really weird eye-smize thing she has been wearing to promote her new book) She has this huge personality that outshines any of the wannabes that come on that show. Not to mention her panel are brilliant - Twiggy, Jay, Nigel Barking - I mean, ah you know... and Miss J. Although Twiggy was a bit shit.
Elle next to that seems a bit wooden, a bit fake and a little bit over 'toxed. Even Julian MacDonald is not as bitingly brilliant as he once was on Project Catwalk (bring that one back!!!)
