No posts tommorow

No posts till Monday (well, maybe one or two tonight) as I am heading to Indiependence festival on Sunday for the day. Will bring you back some nice pictures. Enjoy

Topshop Boutique - new pieces

I'm a big fan of Topshop Boutique pieces. I just think they fit better and are longer lasting then normal Topshop. I love the above dress. I'm thinking bright tights and ankle boots...
Or this mac - which would be perfect for the rest of the summer and some early autumn..
This isn't Boutique, but it's still nice. These floaty kimono tops look amazing belted over a maxi dress. I've been wearing my one like that and I love it.

Rihanna's new hair

So she finally got sick of the red! Rihanna's hair is no longer tomato! I loved the red...kinda sad...

Irregular Choice : Not impressed

I'm feeling a little fed up with Irregular Choice. There used to be a day when all I would wear was IC and I spent hours lusting over pairs I couldn't afford in shoe shops. I thought it was just me who had fallen out of love with their shoes lately and blamed it on getting older.
However I spoke to friends of mine in their early twenties who are just as not into the brand as I am. The shoes went from being quirky and different to just plain ugly - and speaking as someone who has a lot of old pairs - they are made pretty badly too.
I have a long list of repairs to be done to pairs of shoes which only ventured out a handful of times. Pretty bad considering that they are not a cheap brand. They are on average the same as Kurt Geiger shoes price wise.
I did have a pair of gold ankle boots which I loved. But after a handful of wears the leather started to rip and the heels wore down and then the sole started to peel away to reveal a massive hole!!! I emailed the company to ask them for help as I couldn't find anyone willing to repair gold leather - and got told there was nothing they could do. Given I had only just bought them and hadn't even had them six months, this was disgraceful behaviour.
Not to mention the black mary janes I bought and within five minutes of having them on I had to take them back as the button was broken. The shop paid for me to have a repair done. But considering I was on my way to a funeral and had bought the shoes because they were appropriate, this was not cool.
So I am done with IC for a while. Until they bring back the lusty worth shoes they used to have and start making something less clumpy and more fashion forward.

QUOTAGE!

“It depends on the day. Like most women, I have days where I feel like today I’m not leaving the house – you know days where you’ve got a spot on your nose or when you’ve just got off a flight, eaten fish and chips and feel really bloated – that one happens a lot to me. You have to accept yourself though, and accept that there will always be something to worry about. It’s much easier just to accept things.”

- I don't know if I feel better or worse that Lara Stone has body insecurity issues. I'm sure life must be pretty hard for her. I mean, she's very pretty, married, tiny with huge boobs and extremely rich....yeah, poor child...

THE BEAUTY SPOT : Skin Science

THE BEAUTY SPOT : Skin Science

So it's my second week using the 24 hour Bio Active cream. I'm noting a difference in my skin. It seems clear and brighter then it was before. I am using the cream in the morning and evening before I go to bed each night and I have to say other people have commented on how much brighter my skin seems. Considering the late nights I am having trying to get this book finished, I should be in bits with dark circles - but I am actually not!
It's definately the start of my search to find the perfect skincare routine. I am waaaaay too flippant about it. I should be more observant. I mean, I'm 26, a smoker and I enjoy working late on computers - what part of that suggests I am going to age gracefully and with hardly any wrinkles! It's about prevention and not leaving it too late.

I'm going to keep going for another 2 weeks then I have products to review from Bare Minerals, Models Own and Lush.

Mulberry A/W Campaign

I am taking a quick break from correcting my thesis to post these pictures of the Mulberry AW 2011 Campaign, because I think it's gorgeous.
I'm examining different fashion adverts for different reasons and I am including the advert. I fell in love with them. There is something very pretty about them.
Not to mention the obvious thing - it's got a fox in it. Anyone who reads this blog knows I am on a mission to include as many foxes as possible, given that I love them. So yeah...here is another one!
When I am not focusing on how cute the foxes are, I am busy salivating over the handbags - which given that they are the focus of the advert are right in front of it and perfect for taking ten minutes off for a handbag perve....
Sigh...it does make me think of Topshop Unique AW 2010 when all the models wre made up to look like animals and had those amazing unibrows! (Possibly the only time having a unibrow in fashion is cool)

WHAT I WORE TODAY...A

Feeling a little bit sick - which is reflected in my lack of color and scarf!
a - freedom jewelry
scarf - primark
dress - topshop

River Island new clothes

Feast your fashion hungry eyes on the latest drop from River Island. That fringed cardigan above has late summer festival cover up written all over it...nice...
There are many wonderful items such as skirts, jackets and a lot of really awful furry ear muffs and gloves - for some reason.
But most of all I love the ballerina style skirt above. How cute would this be with a plain body underneath, tights and a satchel bag - not forgetting the ballerina bun!
They have a selection of metallic skirts, leggings and tops which are straight out of Stella McCartney for this season, I'm personally loving this gold skirt which in it's pencil style has a hint of Marc Jacobs about it. Nice....

Kate Moss to write her story

According to rumour this morning, Kate Moss is planning to write her story. All of it. In a book. Considering that Grace Coddington managed to get $1.2 million for her book a few days ago - this could mean an epic amount of money for Moss.
I mean, who wouldn't want to read about THAT cocaine scandal, nights with Johnny Depp, how disgusting Pete Doherty actually is AND what its like to be the worlds most recognised model!
Also, Kate-brand has given us clothing, bags, jam, make-up and perfume - there must be somewhere left un-kate-d by now....

Cindy Sherman for MAC

MAC have a talent for collaborating with strange and wonderful people. So I was excited to see Cindy Sherman. I used tor research her work when I was in art college (all those years ago) and her work is suitable creepy. She works a lot on how women are portrayed in the media and her work raises important questions about women are treated and photographed.
Sherman often takes on different personas within her work but this is not the first time she has been involved with fashion, she appeared at Fashion's Night Out for Balenciaga. Performing as a crazy over tanned lady. Anyway, so here are a few of the photos from the collaboration for you. Kinda creepy right?

Kelly Osbourne V Luke Worrell....

The war between Kelly Osbourne and Luke Worrell rages on as the model posted horrible comments on her twitter page ahead of Amy Winehouse's funeral (which took place yesterday). Kelly retaliated with this :

@luke_worrall you've made it very clear u only dated me 4 my life style but s*** tweets about me the day im @ a funeral u have hit a new low.

'@luke_worrall it was fine when my Kellyphant ass was paying 4everything wasn't it? i just didn't think u could get much lower but u did #wow.'

and is considering removing her twitter page after yet another public row with Worrell. Who knows if the rumours about him cheating with a transvestite model are true or not - we may never know. But in the meantime....

David Beckham joins H&M for collection

David Beckham has just announced he is partnering with H&M to design a menswear collection! Nice to see H&M giving one for the boys since we are getting Versace in November!
The collection will launch in February - just in time for Valentines day.

Balmains cheaper new line!

So Balmain's diffusion line is here - yes the cheaper line promised months back. But....is it worth it? I have to say, I'm not blown away by the first load of looks by the collection. That shirt on the right is just disgusting. Then again, the jacket in the middle is nice. Oh! Who knows!
I can tell you that the T-shirts will be priced at around €120 and there will be gowns, jeans and all manner of bits and bobs

Rihanna - court case date is set

RiRi has a court date set for the 10th of August. On the one hand she's just been named Vogue Italia's Woman of the Year for her ability to use 'sexiness' and 'ability to provoke' - really? Because if that's the case then half the girls in Dublin on a Saturday night could argue they deserve it!!!

Anyway, the court case concerns her possible ripping off of David LaChapelle's work in her video for S&M.

American Apparel are to partner with Ebay

According to Ebay, there are 30,000 searches for American Apparel clothing each month - erm, really? Jaysus, Charney must be sitting there clicking repeatedly for at least six hours a day... Anywho, this has led to Ebay partnering with American Apparel to have an online Ebay store.
Okay - my issue with this is that......well, there are many issues. One of which being that their disgusting brand of tacky hipster porn is going to be splashed all over the site.

Not to mention that people who shop ebay are looking for a good deal on products and American Apparel are not cheap to buy over here - nor is it great quality - or worthy the money.

What do you reckon? Ebay+American Apparel = good? or bad?

More or Less collection..

How gorgeous is this shoot? I came across this evening and I must admit, I am partial to a giant oversized knit.
Nanna Van Blaaderen is responsible for the beautiful pieces you see here. It's perfect for the new texture trend which is set for next season.
I'm expecting we are going to have an AWFUL winter - given that our summer was so bad. It snowed last year as well, so chunky knits are essential.

Bitching and Junkfood...nice...

Become a bird of prey......stalking bars for cold Bulmers on a hot day...mmmm...

Homeware porn

Occasionally I do post about homeware things that catch my eye. I dread to think what my house in the future is going to look like - given I spend a lot of my time being attracted to shiny things. Sadly...
I do like these random items from Urban Outfitters. I hadn't bothered looking at their website in a while so I thought I would check in and play - 'decorate your fantasy flat' - a game I play someitmes - what?
I mainly stick to cushions, bedding and occasional kitchen glass/mug/knives/etc. Ever since I bought a set of beautiful black glass wine glasses from there years ago, I've been obsessed with their kitchenware.

How sweet is this bedding? Awwwww...Just incase you can't get the message across by body language, gesture and dress alone....or if your having arguements about which side of bed is yours...(mine is the left)

If your looking for book-ends, I quite like these. Given that I have a large collection of books and am constantly looking for a way to stack them

THE DREADFUL DIARIES : Sigh

THE DREADFUL DIARIES : Cull

I am not just going through all wardrobe - I've decided to get rid of a lot of the make-up I don't wear after I realised I have too much and it's sitting in my room doing nothing. I'm just giving it away to friends.
I intend on clearing out my room in Cork so it's easier to walk in! It's basically a giant store room with a bed at the moment. So I'm going to get rid of a lot of stuff this week and just give it to others...

How to do leopard print by Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart rocking leopard print. That is all.

STYLE INSPIRATION : Pearl Lowe

I worship Pearl Lowe. Her style is amazing and I'm quite envious of her life...sigh...
In fact I've always admired her relationship with Danny from Supergrass as well, they seem so happy and perfect for each other.
