I was delighted to see MCQ by McQueen take to the catwalk at London Fashion Week this year - and what a performance!
Burton actually made my skin go cold as it was such a gorgeous finale - and the clothes were stunning! It reminded me of vintage McQueen from back in the day. Really old school vintage McQueen. I am really glad to see that the tighter control that Burton vowed to take over the cheaper line has really paid off.
While no one can doubt that Sarah Burton has the technical skills and the eye of McQueen, having trained with him for so long - her presentations have always lacked a certain something for me. I cannot fault this - it was just stunning. It's back to the old days of the show AND the style by the looks of things. After all, McQueen was not just famous for his razor sharp tailoring and his incredible eye for trend but also his truly artistic displays of performance art. Yes, I used the term performance art to describe it. Gorgeous.
I hope to see more work like this in the future. Please!
