Wow. Lanvin has just blown me away! I am really impressed. I like the cut and style of Lanvin normally but I find their clothing a touch too girly for me! Its normally in the detailing or the ruffles that I find it a bit too....something for my usual style. This however, I would have totally worn.....
Majority of the pieces showed a really paired back styling - simple shapes, simple styles with a burst of jewel tones which is normally reserved for SS12 collections. It's great to see some of the designers breaking out the pastels and color blocking jewel tones for the next season - it gets so dark with all the black, browns and greys sometimes! There was a little bit of print and detailing for the usual Lanvin customer however!
However there was no denying that the Lanvin woman is all about having fun this season. It's great to see the bright fur stoles, the clashing gloves in silk and a stunning dress nipped in at the waist. Think 1950s mad men on acid!
A detail which style.com posted which you can't see in these photos is that the models had actual sparkly soled shoes on! The bottom of the shoes shone as they walked! Sweet - not to mention that there was apparently mountains of cakes at the aftershow party - nice! I want some!
