With the whole of the world watching London this summer and celebrating all things British, Henry Holland has turned away from all that and has concentrated on all things American with his second resort collection. I don't know why he hasnt design more resort collections, his usual brand of fun, bright and off the wall collections has resort written all over it. I really enjoyed this. As usual with Holland and his collections, there were some pieces I could take or leave but there were some real show stoppers. It's been great watching him develop as a designer and start produce real pieces and accurately style his shows. I always found his early shows - while gorgeous - a little over styled.
So the clothes had pleats, jumpers with H on them, pom poms and stripes. All typical design features associated with cheerleaders. I couldn't help but think of something else while I browsed the collection - deckchairs. I don't know why but the stripy pieces really made me think of deck chairs on the beach in summery weather.
I LOVE this jumpsuit. I mean I really love it. It's a show stopper of a piece. I pulled it immediately for inclusion the second I saw it because it jumped out against the rest of the collection. While I loved the other pieces - I really fell for this. I think jumpsuits like this are stunning on tall women - and at six foot - I totally fit that description!
