I really like this top with cut away panels...the only irritating thing is, its in the petite section. This means, the thing will come down to the end of my bra and no further! I really like it though. I also wish it came in black so I could wear it for work. But alas, I cannot....

Harness love..........
I must have this harness T-shirt in my life. I need it. Like yesterday. It's from ASOS and its £40....which is normally a bit steep for a T-shirt but then this has an actual harness in it....

I finally bought me some LOVE
I cracked and bought the new issue of LOVE yesterday. I had promised myself I wouldn't after I still haven't read the last issue. The reason for this being that its bloody huge and I was writing my thesis at the time.
I have to say, its working a treat at the moment as a mini tray for my laptop! I do feel guilty that I spent almost ten euro on a magazine. I have a real magazine issue addiction problem. I should be getting some form of therapy for it!!! I still havent bought ELLE collections yet either - another tenner to be spent!
I also have to note that the bloody thing almost tore the Easons bag!!! That said, I have a long day of physiotherapy ahead of me tomorrow and I am looking forward to reading it while waiting around. It's got a few articles I am dying to get stuck into.....just the weight of the thing makes carrying it around awkward as hell.....

Jolie from another angle....the leg debate rages on
Someone posted this on facebook, a shot of Angelina Jolie and her leg at the Oscars from another angle. This angle really shows you just how strange the whole thing actually was......

Agyness Deyn FINALLY comes clean about her age to the Guardian
Well, well, well....it seems Agyness Deyn has decided to come clean about her age and revealed she has been lying about it for most of her modelling days. The model and it girl seems determind to leave her modelling career behind her as she takes the stage and screen this year in theatre and movie roles.
The model revealed to the Guardian newspaper that she made the decision to start lying about her age early on in her career : “No, when I decided I would really do modelling I was like 18, and I think at the time that was quite old for a new face, so we knocked off a few years. But it was my birthday last week, and Henry [Holland, her designer friend] was saying how old would you have been? Cos it got really complicated – when personal and work collide – and Henry was like: ‘But it looks like I started being friends with you when you were four or something!’
Interesting, finally the riddle of her actual age - 29 - has been solved. It's been speculated on before by friends of the model and those who went to school with her. It was implied in interviews and magazines that she might be closer to her late 20s then she was admitting to....even a facebook group called 'Agyness Deyn, your not 18' was even set up at once stage, following an interview in 2007 where she claimed to have been born in 1989.
Its not the only thing made up though - her real name is also Laura Hollins, not Agyness Deyn! But then we all knew that!
The Guardian also spoke of the infamous haircut - the Agy- which became THE haircut of 2007/8 as the model rose to fame modelling for houses like House of Holland. I too had the Agy - although it was an accidental Aggy. My haircut of choice in those years was a bleached blonde mowhawk - which when I didn't style it up - looked like hers! I used to get people asking me about it as well. It was a bit annoying after a while. I am currently getting Lady Gaga because of my fringe and long bleached hair which is also annoying. Including a man on facebook which I have had to block for sending me abusive Gaga messages....nice......

"While it is incredibly flattering that I could be considered
for a role at a house such as Dior at this stage in my career, I
can confirm that I have not been approached. I am focused on developing my own label and my ongoing
collaboration with Donatella Versace for Versus."
- Christopher Kane speaking to Vogue.com about being the hot rumor for Dior. Sadly though, it seems it is just that - a rumor!

THE BEAUTY SPOT : Mint Green Varnishes
Chanel started it and now Dior are going to continue it! Jade nail varnish has been a must have since Chanel popped it down the catwalk a few seasons ago in 2009. It became a sell out color with actual waiting lists all over the country. While I am not a fan of Chanel and their polishes - I have Mimosa which is actually shit. It takes ages to dry, needs several coats, is streaky and chips easily - oh and it doesn't come off easily! While I am not a fan, I am however a big fan of their colors. I wanted to try mint green but I didn't want to buy Chanel again....so luckily, Dior have introduced Waterlily into their garden party collection and its gorgeous....
As you can see. It's a lighter color and has less pigment then the Chanel polish but is still gorgeous. I like that Dior has good stay power. This I think is in a series of three polishes all with an almost pastel quality to them.
But another option is the new 'Hyperion' shade from MAC as well. This is more of a duck egg blue-ish jade then the more green versions of Chanel or Dior. It is gorgeous though. It's part of a limited edition of varnishes from MAC as one of three polishes from the Daphne Guinness collection. The collection also features some gorgeous lipglosses and two beautiful dip dye effect blushers as well. You need to be quick though - some of the glosses are already sold out as are the blushers!

MILAN FASHION WEEK : Dolce and Gabbana AW2
Dolce and Gabbana's collections always confused me. I am never sure if I like them as designers or not. There, I said it! While I love the style of the collections, I am not one for such obvious sexiness and corsets. I haven't worn corsets since 2003. There are multiple reasons for that......
However there were some truly gorgeous pieces from this collection including beautifully patterned capes, light floaty blouses mixed with usual D&G hotpants and corseted dresses. I mean, that cape above is just beautiful - if it's one thing that Milan Fashion Week has been pushing to the forefront - its capes. Thankfully as I just bought one last year and want to wear it next year as well.
Style.com pushed this collection as having been inspired by their native Sicily, and while I can see the influences, I also see something totally different. I don't know why but there is something really really Russian about this collection to me. I see there being Russian elements in the patterns and color choices. In the prints and the shapes presented. I know I am more then likely wrong as, well, I wasn't there and style.com more then likely were - but I can't help what I see! This is the great thing about fashion - multiple interpretations of what is actually going on. It really can be just what you want it to be....
I'm still waiting for the day that a D&G collection happens and there are no hot pants!
For the most part of the collection, the colors were simple. Black, gold and white, with basic patterns cropping up here and there. Splashes of red on black dresses amongst the gold patterns. It does hold some religious themes which remind me of the final McQueen (McQueen by McQueen not Burton) collection two years ago where he presented a collection dripping in religious themes. This has mild echoes of it in the gold and the ornate patterns....

THE DREADFUL DIARIES : Back on my feet again
THE DREADFUL DIARIES
It's been ages since I updated you with things from my life - the reason for this being that I have been out of action with my cast for ages! So finally I am back on my feet and back doing what I do best, working, drinking and sleeping!!!!
It feels great to be back up and running with my friends again (and some new friends!) but I am delighted to be able to have my freedom back. Thank god. You don't know what you have until its gone as they say - and its true.
I am also delighted that work is going really really well too and I've been mad busy between Dublin, Galway and Cork at the moment trying to get everything done. I am working on a big piece at the moment and will be really grateful to get some rest!
I have a lot of physio to get through over the next few weeks. Im totally exhausted with it and while my leg is healed - its certainly not back to normal yet. I cant take the stairs sometimes and I have to rest a lot when I'm on my feet. I am really not back in heels just yet either!
I am grateful that the accident left me with just that though and not anything worse. It could have been a lot worse then it was. I really have to say thank you to people for all the support and the good wishes and the people who brought me Vogue while I was stuck in bed.
Today I cracked actually and bought the new issue of LOVE magazine. I had to - I was getting too excited about ELLE collections and I've banned myself from buying Harpers as well. I get too sick of adverts and being spoken to as if I am in my mid thirties - which I am not!
Hopefully I might have some exciting news pretty soon, so stay tuned for all the fun and games here! MWAH!

'I have been approached so many times to do one, but I don’t want to work for a big company where I’ll have to have lots of meetings where I’m told what I can and can’t do. My niece, Kristina, handles that sort of thing for me – it’s just not for me. I was recently contacted by J Crew to do something with them, so I sent them over 45 pairs of shoes, and they announced we were doing a collaboration. I had no idea about it!'
How embarrassing - Manolo Blahnik spoke out about how he had no idea he was meant to be collaborating with J Crew.....after they released a press statement. Morto for you love....
MILAN FASHION WEEK : Marni AW12
I am the first to admit that Marni didn't interest me until the H&M collection. I don't know why but it's just a brand I wasn't that interested in. I knew it was there but I wasn't bothered. God knows why - so today I decided to have a look at the new collection for AW12 because, well, I was curious and, the verdict is in - I LOVED IT.
I loved it for two reasons - the clear 60s influence of the styling and shapes - even the fringes the models sported which style.com likened to Sassoon's influence - rightly so. I also loved the lavender tights. Such a simple twist of styling but so effective. I love how they look with the T bar shoes! Too cute! I am a fan! Typically with Marni there was prints and thicker fabrics then this but I have to say that I was beyond impressed with the 60s stuff that I left the prints where I found them!

Tumblr to start monitoring self harm blogs
Well this is really good news.
Tumblr have announced that they will be policing blogs which are related to self harm and thinsporation. Thinsporation is where girls post pictures of skinny celebrities they aim to look like. I hate to add that sometimes these blogs can be linked to eating disorders and sufferers of eating disorders.
While we are all guilty of having a moment where we wished we looked like Rihanna or had the figure of someone famous - it can also be a bit sinister and wrong when it consumes the person and influences their eating habits. There is nothing wrong with being envious of someone's figure - but if your changing your eating habits or diet because of it - then its a bit wrong. Also there are impressionable youngsters on Tumblr and no one wants them getting the wrong idea....
''These typically take the form of blogs that glorify or promote anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders; self-mutilation; or suicide. These are messages and points of view that we strongly oppose, and don’t want to be hosting.''
It means that Tumblr will start to archive and prohibit information they view as 'harmful' and posting messages to counteract the messages.
I think while this is positive and a good thing - I think its going to move from Tumblr to another site. Mainly pinterest as people are going mad over the site at the moment. I have banned myself from it because I cannot take drooling over pictures of cake late at night....

I'm not one for caring who wore what to the Oscars, unless its really really shit!
I am also not one for caring about what Gwyneth Paltrow wears full stop. Unless its really really shit. I have to say though, her debuting Tom Ford's new collection was just gorgeous though.....wow.

Stella VS Ford : The War of Words continues.....
The silent war between Tom Ford and Stella McCartney rages on....Well, its not really a war - more a debate.
McCartney maintains that Ford approached her back in 2001 with an offer to take over Gucci and even went as far as to offer her a trip around the Gucci offices. She said she refused the offer as she had an issue with the use of fur and leather in their collections.
Ford has spoken out to completely deny the rumors and said he never offered her the job.
"It was never a conversation about taking over at Gucci," he told the New York Times. "I think she might have interpreted that at a certain point." He states that he was aware of McCartney's understanding of the subject, but "just never corrected her".
It then got a bit nasty as McCartney wandered in with this : "As if all those exotic skins and corduroy hamster fur were going to turn me on and make me change my entire ethic."
She also added : "He's a lying, cheating... what?" That's the weirdest thing. Why would he take me into an office and show me every dead animal? Oops!"
We await Ford's response eagerly.....

Stefano Pilato has left YSL - CONFIRMED
This just confirmed - Stefano Pilato has left YSL!
His last collection with the brand that he has been a part of since 2004 will take place in a weeks time and rumors are hot that Hedi Slimane will be taking his place. Although that part has not been confirmed.
YSL has flourished under Pilato and its sad to think that he has left. He released this statement : '“I exit the house with fierce conviction in all that we have achieved and deep gratitude to those who have supported me along the way. I wish the maison Yves Saint Laurent and its new creative director the very best for the future.”
I wish him all the best!
In other news related to shake ups at various fashion houses - Christopher Kane has been suggested as ANOTHER designer in the running for the job at Dior. So far there has been a torrent of suggestions as to who should take the reins but Suzy Menkes has suggested that prehaps Kane should be thrown into the mix : '"The collaboration between Versace and Christopher Kane with his sister Tammy is a sweet reminder of the Gianni Versace-Donatella years. But what if - as the rumour mill claims - Mr Kane has been put up for the Dior job? There will be yet another round of musical chairs."
Jaysus lads, would you ever sort it out!

Angelina Jolie pulled the strangest poses at the Oscars
Angelina Jolie wore Versace to the Oscars. Fair enough, I think we can all agree its not the worst thing she could have done! I do think that she thought the dress was a bit dull though and loved the split in the side. It's the only reason she stood there like a X factor reject on the red carpet. The leg shoved out to one side. It's a reminder - HEY! I'M SEXY! LOOK AT MY LEG! SEE!
It does reek of Victoria Beckham in her early Spice Girl days where she stood like that in most photos....It just looks a little.....well....odd.

Marc by Marc Jacobs laptop cases at Brown Thomas
Someone asked me before about laptop accessories and where to get them! While I have already done a post on this - I would like to add a bit more.....these are a few that I found on Friday in Brown Thomas - and they are Marc by Marc Jacobs.
The line includes headphones, ipad cases, ipod covers, laptop cases and the best part? They are actually reasonably priced!

WHAT I WORE LAST FRIDAY : Wuthering Heights
It's true what they say about bloggers standing in mental poses to get snapped! I found myself standing like this in order to document my outfit! I rarely do outfit posts as I find it a little...self indulgent but I was proud of my, as E put it - 'wuthering heights' outfit on Friday last week. It did mean after she labelled my outfit Cathy inspired I leapt (as best as my leg would let me) around the kitchen screaming 'HEATHCLIFFFFFFF, IT'S ME CATHY COME HOME NOW!' while doing insane Kate Bush arms for about five minutes....try it - it's incredibly liberating......
So here is the list :
Jacket - Topshop
Blouse - Awear
Top under blouse - Triumph
skirt - Pennys
Scarf - Pennys
Bag - Awear
Boots - God knows
and yes, that is a bag of chocolate in my other hand.....a lot of chocolate.....
WHAT I WORE TODAY : Work face
I have more work face photos! Thankfully my skin and hair are almost back to normal so I am starting to look like myself again! We are all working the trends at the moment and thankfully, one of the trends involves red lipstick - so I'm happy!
So product list :
Face : MAC studio fix, Rimmel concealer, MAC mineralise powder and Benefit blusher
eyes : Benefit highlighter 'Moonbeam' and MAC mascara 'studio fix boldblack lash'
Lips : MAC 'Lady Danger'
Eyebrows - MAC 'Lingering'
I dressed up the eyes a bit more later on in the day but for the most part - this was the bones of the look! Really really really dramatic lips!
I have to add that while I still love my Ruby Woo - I am getting drawn to Lady Danger at the moment. I love how bright and vibrant it is but also it doesn't dry out the lips as well. I also like that it has a neon tinge to it AND its really close to Morange without being too....well...orange really....whh

MILAN FASHION WEEK : Jil Sander AW12
Gorgeous. Just. Gorgeous. I was interested to see the Jil Sander collection given that its Simon's last collection with the brand and he has been responsible for some of the best collections on the fashion week runways since 2005, this - I had to see!
I loved it. The first thing that strikes you about the collection is that there is a real push on coats - unsurprising given that it is an AW collection and that normally is when we start to think about our next great winter coat. What I liked about the many coats that filled the catwalk was that they were in many lengths, shapes and colors - there is something for every woman in this collection. Shapes included cocoon, mid length, boyish and full length, colors included pinks, navys and a gorgeous cherry red which really stood out from the collection of pastels.
There was also a real lack of prints - as in none. Mind you, I wasn't expecting to see any anyway. I was however surprised to see pastel as it's more a spring thing then a winter one and also because I associate Jil Sander with neon after THAT collection a few seasons ago. I have to comment that I was slightly prepared for the pastel thing as both London and New York showed collections full of winter pastels.
Apart from the push on coats, color blocking and pastels - there were some really sweet cut away dresses. There were panels missing and pieces cut out creating really eye catching and unusual shapes. As I said before - gorgeous.
Make -up was simple with the models sporting a classic full red lip - think Ruby Woo or better yet Lady Danger from MAC for inspiration. So if your not a fan of pastel or navy then you can get the Sander look by adding a red lip to your wardrobe - or make up bag!
The fiery red coat that stirred up the collection! It was nice to see such an injection of color as pastels don't really do anything for me. I wish I was the type of girl who could wear them - but I am not sadly. So I guess its back to black for me then!
Another trend for next season - leather or PVC panels. This usually comes up for Winter as designers start to think about a stronger more sexy woman for their collections around this time. They use harder and warmer fabrics like this - although it is nice to see that it exists in the form of panels or is used to create unusual shapes on the side of dresses or jackets.

Who is taking Raf Simons job?
So incase anyone was wondering who will be taking over the Raf Simons position at Jil Sander - the answer is, Jil Sander!
The speculation is that Simons is top of the list to take over the Dior job, although there is as many speculating that that isn't actually going to happen - so god knows! But he has been there since 2005 and is responsible for some of the biggest collections and shaping the direction of the high street since then - remember how everyone from Topshop to Primark started filling their racks with bright colors and how plastic bags became hot news? Yeah, that was him.....
Sanders left the company in 1999 when Prada bought a 75% stake in the brand, rumors flew that she clashed with her new boss and while she returned in 2004 - she soon left again. The brand has since been sold twice, so it could be that this means she could be returning for good this time.
Still, I felt bad for Simons...

Claire's Accessories accused of ripping off Tatty Devine
Whoops - looks like Claire's Accessories are in hot water after they were accused of ripping off designs from Tatty Devine.
Tatty Devine, a brand known for making fun accessories from various lumps of plastic accused Claire's of copying their designs on their blog on Wednesday, stating that :
“We design every piece, and it’s all made in Britain by our own skilled team. It’s flattering when people like something you’ve created, but this kind of thing can’t be tolerated.”
The duo behind Tatty Devine have consulted lawyers and have posted the series of photographs we have here. You have to admit, it looks fairly suspect!
